About the Role
You will lead the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems and own major features from design through production. You will drive architectural decisions, build event-driven real-time processing systems, improve observability and performance, resolve complex production issues, mentor engineers, and shape technical strategy and roadmap planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of professional software development experience
- Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale
- Knowledge of system design, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ
- Ability to lead technical initiatives and influence system design
- Debugging skills in complex multi-service environments
- Experience with robotics, warehouse automation, real-time control systems, orchestration platforms, simulation, optimization, cloud-native architectures, or reliability engineering practices preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client and customer locations
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems and services
- Own end-to-end delivery of major features and subsystems
- Drive architectural decisions for scalability, resiliency, and system correctness
- Develop event-driven real-time processing systems
- Analyze and improve system behavior through metrics, observability, and performance profiling
- Diagnose and resolve complex cross-system production issues
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance
- Partner with robotics, controls, infrastructure, and product teams
- Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap planning
