About the Role
You will serve as the technical authority for power distribution, power protection, and switchgear design. You will define engineering standards, architect low- and medium-voltage power systems, oversee short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, and load-flow studies, and design protection schemes using protective relays. You will review designs before fabrication, mentor electrical engineers, and align technical capabilities with manufacturing and product requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 10–15+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience
- Experience focused on switchgear design and modular infrastructure
- Deep understanding of low- and medium-voltage switchgear construction
- Mastery of power protection theory
- Ability to lead technical teams through complex engineering challenges
- Exceptional communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Professional Engineer license strongly preferred
- Master's degree in Power Systems strongly preferred
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and UL standards
- Experience with EPlan or AutoCAD Electrical is beneficial
- Experience with PLC/SCADA integration is beneficial
- Drug and alcohol program participation
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for power distribution and switchgear design
- Lead system architecture for modular data centers and power distribution centers
- Interpret electrical codes and ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and IEEE standards
- Perform and oversee short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, and load-flow studies
- Design and validate protection schemes
- Select and configure protective relays
- Conduct technical design reviews before fabrication
- Mentor Staff and Senior Electrical Engineers
- Develop and maintain electrical design standards and specifications
- Partner with Manufacturing and Product Management on modular power solutions
