About the Role
Lead electrical engineering efforts across fast-track hyperscale data center projects, covering power distribution, substations, protection systems, backup power, grounding, bonding, and life safety interfaces. Review designs and calculations, coordinate with project stakeholders, support field commissioning, manage external engineering teams, and develop electrical standards and reliability philosophies.
Requirements
- 12–18+ years of experience in electrical engineering and mission-critical or industrial power systems.
- Significant experience with data center design and operations in high-density power environments.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating complex electrical systems and drawings.
- Strong understanding of power distribution, protection and controls, NEC, and IEEE standards.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, lean environments.
- Professional Engineering license strongly preferred.
- Experience with HPC, AI/ML, or crypto data centers preferred.
- Experience with utility interconnections and substations preferred.
- Exposure to commissioning and operational turnover preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering efforts across utility interconnections, substations, power distribution, transformers, switchgear, protection schemes, backup power, grounding, bonding, and life safety systems.
- Coordinate electrical design through concept, schematic, and detailed design phases.
- Review drawings, specifications, calculations, one-lines, load studies, and protection coordination.
- Resolve design gaps, constructability issues, and interface risks.
- Coordinate with contractors, utilities, AHJs, vendors, OEMs, and consultants.
- Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support energization and commissioning.
- Manage Engineers of Record and specialty consultants.
- Review deliverables for quality, completeness, standards alignment, and schedule performance.
- Develop electrical design standards, reference architectures, and reliability philosophies.
- Incorporate lessons learned from construction, commissioning, and operations.
