About the Role

You will lead the architecture, development, validation, and deployment of automation software for laboratory systems and robotics. You will build data pipelines and visualization tools, integrate sensors and instrumentation, manage software baselines and releases, mentor engineers, and improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, master's degree with 5 years, or 11 years of hands-on automation software engineering experience
  • Experience leading the full software development lifecycle for complex automation or instrumentation systems
  • Proficiency in C#, Python, C/C++, and SQL
  • Experience integrating robotic hardware and analytical instrumentation through custom software interfaces
  • Experience with robotic software integration and motion control
  • Experience managing multi-site or international software deployments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
  • Meet export-control eligibility requirements
  • Travel up to 20% within the continental United States

Responsibilities

  • Lead software architecture, data-flow design, and system integration for automation platforms
  • Develop automation software pipelines for high-throughput testing
  • Integrate sensors, robotic hardware, and data visualization tools
  • Define software baselines, version-control strategies, and configuration management
  • Design secure data handling, database architectures, real-time visualization, and deployment packaging
  • Support technical reviews, proposals, cost estimates, and business-capture activities
  • Mentor software engineers and improve engineering processes and documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, reliability, and throughput
  • Embed automation software practices across the product lifecycle
