About the Role
You will own the roadmap for the financial data and accounting platform. You will translate accounting and control requirements into scalable platform capabilities, establish standards and data contracts, support regulatory and audit readiness, and reduce close and reporting risk. You will partner with finance, engineering, compliance, legal, risk, and audit stakeholders to deliver platform outcomes.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building or scaling systems, platforms, tooling, or control frameworks
- 3+ years as an owner of relevant systems or frameworks
- Accounting or finance foundation through CPA, equivalent, accounting degree, or hands-on experience
- Experience with financial reporting, audit, controllership, or accounting systems
- Experience building scalable ledgers, billing, payments, reporting, data infrastructure, reconciliation tooling, or controls automation
- Experience in a regulated financial environment
- Experience with auditors, examiners, SOX controls, or control programs
- Technical credibility with engineers and ability to write precise requirements
- Professional crypto or digital-asset experience, or substantial digital-asset passion projects
- Clear specification, data-flow mapping, and decision-document writing
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the financial data and accounting platform roadmap
- Build ledger, reconciliation, fee calculation, reporting, general ledger, and close capabilities
- Translate SOX and internal-control requirements into product capabilities
- Set platform standards, interfaces, and data contracts across products and entities
- Support regulatory reporting, books-and-records requirements, and audit requests
- Manage plans against audit, regulatory, and reporting deadlines
- Reduce manual effort and risk in month-end and quarter-end close
- Establish platform metrics for reconciliation, close duration, audit adjustments, journal volume, and product onboarding
- Translate accounting requirements into platform capabilities
- Partner with engineering on platform design, sequencing, and tradeoffs
