About the Role
You will own the design of flight-critical power systems for the X-BAT aircraft. You will develop high- and low-voltage power electronics, lead the full hardware development cycle, guide PCB design, validate designs, manage technical milestones, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
- Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, circuit testing, and debugging
- Familiarity with Altium or equivalent
- Ability to obtain an S//SAR level security clearance desired
Responsibilities
- Own flight-critical power system design for X-BAT
- Design high- and low-voltage power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, and battery management systems
- Lead design, verification, and manufacturing deployment
- Develop hardware from concept through modeling, analysis, schematic capture, simulation, prototyping, testing, and validation
- Drive PCB layout and design with ECAD engineers
- Design systems for safety, manufacturability, reliability, power density, EMI, and thermal performance
- Lead cross-functional design reviews
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical milestones
- Mentor engineers and provide technical feedback
