About the Role
You will design experiments, execute research campaigns, analyze thermofluid results, and develop system-level models. You will research thermal energy storage and HVAC technologies, publish and present findings, contribute to proposals, coordinate project work, and maintain safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering completed within the last 5 years
- Laboratory and experimental experience
- Completion of all degree requirements before appointment start
- Three letters of reference, including one from a PhD committee member
- Ability to obtain and maintain a PIV credential or favorable LSSO risk determination
Responsibilities
- Design experimental setups and execute experimental campaigns
- Perform thermofluid analyses and interpret results
- Conduct laboratory research on thermal energy storage, sorption systems, compressors, heat exchangers, and HVAC systems
- Develop and apply system-level models
- Prepare technical reports, journal publications, and conference papers
- Present research findings to sponsors and diverse audiences
- Contribute to idea generation and proposal development
- Coordinate with operations and technical staff
- Comply with environmental, safety, health, and quality standards
