About the Role
You will design and perform high-fidelity thermodynamic, transport, and spectroscopic measurements of materials. You will develop high-throughput characterization methods, automate data analysis and reasoning pipelines, build feedback loops between measurements and predictions, commission instrumentation, maintain data standards, and uphold laboratory safety.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on physical-property characterization experience
- Expertise in electronic and magnetic property measurements, including resistivity, Hall effect, magnetometry, and heat capacity
- Experience with cryogenic measurements, low-noise techniques, lock-in methods, shielding, grounding, and precision instrumentation
- Proficiency with Python, Jupyter, data analysis, and data management
- Scientific writing and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Develop and perform thermodynamic, transport, and spectroscopic materials measurements
- Design rapid property-measurement schemes for AI-guided discovery pipelines
- Implement automated data-analysis and reasoning pipelines
- Develop autonomous property-characterization systems using robotics and programmable instrumentation
- Evaluate, procure, commission, and customize instrumentation
- Define and enforce data standards, metadata schemas, and documentation practices
- Uphold laboratory safety standards
