About the Role
You will review forensic DNA standards against ISO, ASTM, and SWGDAM guidance. You will organize and categorize scientific literature, facilitate technical working groups, communicate with academic programs and standards bodies, and prepare technical summaries and outreach plans.
Requirements
- Master's degree in physical science, forensic science, or a related field
- At least 10 years of forensic science experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a DNA Technical Leader or Forensic Biology Supervisor or Manager
- Experience with ISO 17025 accreditation
- Knowledge of FEPAC
- Oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Review forensic DNA standards for alignment with ISO 17025
- Review forensic DNA standards for alignment with ASTM E30.11 standards
- Identify technical gaps against SWGDAM guidelines and recommend harmonization
- Facilitate communications with forensic science academic programs
- Facilitate DNA technical leader and examiner working-group meetings
- Consolidate and categorize forensic DNA literature
- Draft technical summaries and outreach campaign plans
- Participate in OSAC and Academy Standards Board meetings
