About the Role
You will serve as the primary employment lawyer for APAC. You will build legal infrastructure, advise on workforce structuring, support employee relations and disputes, monitor regulations, and develop compliance templates, playbooks, and training.
Requirements
- Law degree and local in-house counsel licensing eligibility
- Employment law expertise across multiple APAC countries
- Ability to provide practical guidance to non-lawyers
- Ability to balance legal risk and business needs
- Ability to work across time zones
- 12+ years of employment legal experience across law firms and in-house roles
- Experience advising on employment laws in Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, and Singapore
- Knowledge of employee data privacy requirements
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary employment lawyer for APAC
- Build legal infrastructure for APAC jurisdictions
- Advise on market entry and workforce structuring
- Partner on compliant compensation, benefits, and equity programs
- Guide employee relations matters and workplace investigations
- Manage employment-dispute strategy with outside counsel
- Track employment, privacy, and AI-related regulatory developments
- Develop compliance templates, playbooks, and training
