About the Role
You will train in manufacturing operations, evaluation testing, and quality control while receiving learning support and mentoring. You will create work instructions, maintain tools and equipment, investigate hardware failures, inspect products, manage inventory, improve processes, and collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and production partners.
Requirements
- Relevant academic specialization in electrical engineering, electronics, information technology, or a related field
- Strong interest in manufacturing, hardware, or operations engineering
- Willingness to perform hands-on work using electrical, mechanical, and testing equipment
- Ability to use measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Business-level English, or business-level Japanese with English reading and writing ability
- Residence in Japan at the time of application
- Eligibility for a Certificate of Eligibility if lacking status of residence required for full-time work
Responsibilities
- Create and improve production work instructions
- Manage and maintain tools and equipment safely
- Investigate hardware failures in returned products
- Test and inspect finished products to verify quality
- Resolve manufacturing issues with design engineers and suppliers
- Promote 5S activities and improve existing processes
- Deploy manufacturing processes to external contractors and support production planning
- Manage raw-material, finished-goods, and nonconforming-product inventory
- Support development of manual and automated tools to improve testing and manufacturing efficiency
- Support product evaluations, conduct tests, and record results
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies

Hiring Process
Twelve-month training program with weekly check-ins and mentoring, evaluations at six and twelve months, and conversion to a permanent Operations Engineer role upon passing the final evaluation.
