About the Role

You will develop STEM and microanalysis tools for semiconductor and superconducting quantum devices. You will establish high-throughput workflows for sample preparation, data collection, and analysis; collaborate with device fabricators; and present or publish results.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience with advanced STEM techniques
  • Experience with STEM-based EDS and EELS spectroscopies
  • Experience with STEM data analysis
  • Experience with Python, py4DSTEM, or a similar programming language
  • Experience operating FIB and SEM equipment
  • Oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop STEM and related microanalysis tools for quantum-device metrology
  • Develop FIB preparation methods for quantum-device lamellae
  • Establish automated workflows for sample preparation, microscopy data collection, and analysis
  • Collaborate with device fabricators to provide measurement-driven design feedback
  • Present and publish results
