About the Role
You will turn control-quality concerns into trusted metrics and automated pipelines. You will build deterministic testing, CI evaluation, release comparisons, fleet-level dashboards, and test suites that measure robot control health over time.
Requirements
- Robotics experience on real systems
- Strong Python and sufficient modern C++ experience
- Experience building test automation, evaluation frameworks, or benchmarking infrastructure
- Measurement and data analysis knowledge including sampling, noise, and statistical significance
- Experience with ROS or ROS2, message recording and replay, time synchronization, CI/CD, and Git workflows
Responsibilities
- Define computable control-quality metrics from robot data, simulation runs, and telemetry
- Own metric definitions and versioning
- Develop deterministic automated test harnesses for control releases
- Integrate control evaluation into CI for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Build tools for side-by-side controller and release comparisons
- Build per-robot and fleet-level control performance test suites
- Track drift, variation, degradation, and control health across robots
- Create dashboards that make control health understandable
