About the Role

You will design and plan scalable data-center connectivity and structured cabling for large network clusters. You will procure materials, oversee construction, implement upgrades, document installations, troubleshoot circuits, audit vendor work, and coordinate connectivity delivery across engineering and operations functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or 8 years of equivalent practical experience
  • At least 5 years of data center connectivity design experience
  • Multimode fiber, singlemode fiber, copper, and low-voltage telecommunications systems experience
  • Structured cabling experience
  • Active and passive cabling knowledge
  • Ability to travel approximately 40%
  • Ability to perform hands-on data center work
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable data center connectivity and structured cabling plants
  • Procure fiber, copper, and connectivity materials
  • Provide project management and construction oversight
  • Plan and implement network upgrades in live data centers
  • Develop connectivity deployment procedures
  • Audit installations and coordinate vendor troubleshooting and repairs
  • Maintain as-built connectivity documentation
  • Release and troubleshoot ISP circuits and cross-connect deployments
  • Collaborate on cluster design and delivery
  • Apply building codes and industry standards to connectivity design and installation
