About the Role

You will lead physical network infrastructure deployment at a partner-operated data center campus and future OpenAI campuses. You will inspect installations, assist with cable routing and termination, conduct fiber testing, troubleshoot network physical-layer issues, contribute field feedback to designs, and create deployment standards and documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in large-scale data center network deployment, structured cabling, or physical-layer installation.
• Knowledge of fiber and copper plant design, cabling standards, and hyperscale network practices.
• Ability to perform field work and resolve installation and testing issues.
• Ability to adapt to changing build conditions and learn networking technologies.
• Communication skills for working with construction, engineering, and operations teams.
• Ability to be based at a partner campus during the initial build phase and travel to future data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead technician during the campus build.
• Partner on design reviews, installation plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Inspect installations and assist with cable routing and termination.
• Conduct fiber testing, including OTDR, power-level, and continuity testing.
• Troubleshoot cabling routes, patching, and equipment turn-up.
• Contribute field feedback to structured-cabling and physical-network-layout reviews.
• Develop engineering standards, as-built documentation, and deployment playbooks.
• Lead physical-layer network deployment from design through commissioning for future expansions.
