About the Role

You will design vehicle-specific brackets, mounts, and mechanical interfaces for sensor and compute integration on heavy equipment. You will create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials; improve enclosures, harness-routing hardware, and fixtures; support environmental testing; validate installations on physical vehicles; and troubleshoot field integration issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience designing brackets, mounts, or structural components using sheet metal, machined parts, or weldments
  • Proficiency with CAD such as Onshape or SolidWorks
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, fixtures, and prototypes
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% within the United States
  • Ability to climb onto heavy construction equipment for measurements, fit-checks, and installation validation

Responsibilities

  • Design brackets, mounts, and mechanical interfaces for sensor and compute integration
  • Integrate enclosures, sensors, and compute hardware onto new vehicle platforms
  • Improve enclosures, harness-routing hardware, and mounting fixtures using field feedback and DFM/DFA
  • Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials
  • Support vibration, shock, and thermal qualification testing
  • Perform vehicle fit-checks and installation validation
  • Troubleshoot mechanical integration issues and iterate designs using manufacturing and field feedback
