About the Role

You will lead complex mechanical design work for actuators, igniters, pressure vessels, solid rocket motors, hot-gas valves, and thrusters. You will conduct trade-off and engineering analyses, create advanced models and technical documents, optimize manufacturing approaches, support testing, and contribute to systems engineering, procurement, and project execution.

Requirements

  • Ten to fifteen years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical, aerospace, or a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility for required export authorizations

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize actuators, igniters, pressure vessels, solid rocket motor systems, valves, and thrusters
  • Conduct trade-off analyses and recommend design optimizations
  • Create advanced 2D and 3D models and technical drawings
  • Conduct structural, dynamic, thermal, and tolerance analyses
  • Select materials and manufacturing processes and specify quality-control checks
  • Lead assembly activities and support fabrication, machining, molding, casting, and welding
  • Support assembly, testing, data analysis, and test-plan development
  • Perform mass analysis, requirements analysis, risk analysis, and reliability work
  • Lead small teams and support procurement, proposals, and schedules
