About the Role
You will perform stress and structural-dynamics analyses of complex hardware, validate analysis results, assess vibration and shock responses, make design recommendations, apply CFD and thermal-analysis methods within structural analyses, and communicate technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of experience, master's degree with 0–2 years, or PhD with no experience
- Familiarity with mechanical design concepts for high-precision hardware
- Familiarity with solid rocket motor physics
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals
- Basic CAD software proficiency
- Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Perform stress analyses using first-principles concepts and FEA software
- Interpret and validate analysis results
- Recommend product design improvements
- Perform structural-dynamics analyses of multibody systems
- Identify critical modes and assess random-vibration and shock responses
- Incorporate CFD and thermal-analysis models into structural analyses
