About the Role

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II – Structural Analysis for Strategic Systems to perform stress analysis, structural dynamics, and related engineering analyses for advanced solid rocket propulsion systems while collaborating with an interdisciplinary engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2–4 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 0–2 years of experience, or a PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design concepts for high-precision hardware.
  • Familiarity with the physics of solid rocket motor systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T fundamentals.
  • Ability to use basic CAD software functionality.
  • Preferred experience in the space and defense industry.
  • Preferred experience with solid or liquid rocket propulsion technologies.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress analysis of complex hardware systems using first-principles concepts and FEA software.
  • Interpret and validate analysis results and recommend product design improvements.
  • Perform structural dynamics analysis of multibody systems for random vibration and shock loading.
  • Understand and incorporate CFD and thermal analysis methods into structural analyses.
  • Coordinate closely with interdisciplinary engineering teams and communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
