About the Role
You will maintain laboratory readiness, equipment, inventory, documentation, and safety compliance. You will coordinate materials and samples, support experimental setup and measurements, record data, troubleshoot routine instrumentation issues, and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, engineering, geochemistry, geoscience, or another instrumentation-intensive scientific discipline
- 1–2 years of laboratory participation in academic research or a similar technical environment
- Familiarity with complex scientific instrumentation and laboratory operations
- Experience following standard operating procedures and laboratory safety practices
- Ability to manage shifting priorities
Responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness of a shared laboratory
- Manage inventory of chemicals, consumables, gases, sample supplies, spare parts, and radioactive materials
- Manage incoming research materials and samples
- Maintain equipment logs, maintenance records, procedures, and laboratory documentation
- Support safety, chemical-hazard tracking, and laboratory compliance
- Assist with waste handling and hazardous-material management
- Assist with experimental setup, sample preparation, measurements, and data recording
- Prepare materials, reagents, and equipment for research
- Provide technical support across scientific disciplines
- Troubleshoot routine laboratory and instrumentation issues
- Contribute to technical reports, journal articles, and presentations
