About the Role
You will support daily high-throughput laboratory operations by calibrating instruments, running quality-control workflows, preparing materials, maintaining inventory, documenting procedures, troubleshooting anomalies, and improving manual workflows. You will also help train technicians and validate new equipment, labware, and experimental methods.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, a related field, or equivalent technical laboratory experience
- Ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures precisely and maintain consistency and cleanliness
- Experience performing careful physical and repetitive tasks
- Technical curiosity about complex equipment
- Written and verbal communication
- Excel, Google Sheets, or laboratory inventory systems
Responsibilities
- Perform instrument and sensor calibration and verification, maintain records, and flag drift or anomalies
- Execute and refine quality-control workflows to protect experimental data integrity
- Prepare and handle materials, including weighing, labeling, packaging, and batch preparation
- Track inventory, manage chemicals, and maintain clean, stocked laboratory spaces
- Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures with scientists and engineers
- Identify and improve inefficient manual workflows
- Train new technicians on laboratory practices, equipment operation, and safety protocols
- Develop quality-control and metrology protocols for new processes and instruments
- Validate new labware, equipment, and experimental methods
- Troubleshoot equipment and process anomalies, escalate issues, and document findings
