About the Role
You will lead the global valuation function for a portfolio of more than 300 companies. You will review financial data and valuation models, approve valuation outputs, analyze portfolio performance, establish pricing and fair value policies, assess valuation risks, advise senior stakeholders, improve processes, and support audits and reporting.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance or Accounting concentration, or Finance, plus 3 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Finance or Accounting concentration, or Finance, plus 5 years of progressive relevant experience
- Experience developing fair value estimates and performing quarterly valuations for debt and equity investments
- Experience constructing financial models using discounted cash flow, comparable company, and comparable transaction analyses
- Experience maintaining a valuation database
- Experience performing valuation analysis under FASB Accounting Standards Codification 820, including Level 3 assets
- Experience performing calibration analysis under the AICPA Accounting and Valuation Guide
- Experience preparing multiple-scenario exit plans and evaluating MOIC and IRR
- Experience using sensitivity, profitability, growth, and trend analyses to resolve valuation discrepancies
Responsibilities
- Drive the valuation strategy and process across the global portfolio
- Lead and manage the global valuation function, including internal teams and external valuation providers
- Compile, review, and analyze financial data and perform valuation modeling
- Provide senior-level review and approval of valuation outputs
- Analyze portfolio valuation and performance results and forecast business financials
- Prepare financial metrics, analytics reports, and planning deliverables
- Present valuation insights to senior leadership and committees
- Set independent pricing and fair value adjustment policies
- Enhance valuation governance frameworks and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Assess valuation risks, assumptions, and conclusions
- Advise senior stakeholders on valuation implications for portfolio monitoring and exit planning
- Assess technology solutions and redesign processes to improve valuation efficiency
- Support valuation reviews, audits, and reporting with auditors and third-party valuation firms
