About the Role

You will manage German accounting operations and coordinate financial reporting between German and US entities. You will oversee billing, collections, payables, cash management, payroll accounting, reconciliations, tax compliance, US GAAP reporting support, and improvements to financial systems and controls.

Requirements

• Completed Ausbildung as Steuerfachangestellter, Steuerfachwirt, or similar accounting qualification
• 3 or more years of accounting experience
• Full fluency in German and English
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
• Experience with ERP systems
• Based in or willing to relocate to Freiburg, Germany

Responsibilities

• Manage billing, collections, and accounts payable for the German entity
• Execute treasury and cash-management functions, including intercompany settlements
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Review payroll outputs and post general-ledger entries
• Reconcile payroll-related balance-sheet accounts monthly
• Maintain books in accordance with German GAAP
• Maintain reconciled records across DATEV and Rillet
• Coordinate VAT returns and filings with German accountants
• Support tax compliance and statutory documentation
• Reconcile German GAAP accounts to a US GAAP basis
• Support global close and consolidation processes
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls
