About the Role
You will update underwriting guidelines and automated rules, research industry practices, and help roll out new guidance. You will analyze business and audit results, support cross-functional projects, provide underwriting guidance, and mentor junior underwriters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field
- 5+ years of progressive life insurance underwriting experience
- Risk assessment expertise
- Case evaluation experience with an underwriting authority limit of $3,000,000 or higher
Responsibilities
- Update underwriting guidelines and automated rules
- Identify and prioritize underwriting refinements
- Research, draft, and help roll out new underwriting guidelines
- Conduct market studies on industry norms
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-functional projects
- Evaluate business results data with actuarial and data analytics partners
- Provide underwriting guidance to legal, risk, and compliance teams
- Review audit cases and post-issue automated cases
- Analyze audit findings and recommend mitigations
- Mentor and coach junior underwriters
