About the Role
You will identify and prioritize patentable inventions with researchers, engineers, and product managers. You will draft invention memos and patent applications, manage global prosecution and outside counsel, maintain IP processes and dashboards, support M&A diligence, administer inventor recognition, and align patent strategy with open-source objectives.
Requirements
- Experience drafting patents in complex software and AI domains
- Understanding of AI patent eligibility in the United States and Europe
- Hands-on experience with LLMs or other generative AI technologies
- Experience selecting, managing, and optimizing external patent firms
- Knowledge of open-source licenses and their relationship to patents
- Fluent English
Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize patentable inventions
- Advise on trade secrets versus patent filings
- Draft invention memos and patent applications
- Manage global patent prosecution and outside counsel
- Develop and maintain IP processes, tools, documentation, and filing dashboards
- Assess IP portfolios and freedom-to-operate risks for M&A due diligence
- Administer and evolve the inventor recognition program
- Align patent strategy with open-source objectives
