About the Role
You will own infrastructure from generation terminals and interconnection points to the medium-voltage bus. You will design high-voltage switchyards, lead utility and balancing-authority interconnection work, manage protection and power-system studies, coordinate generation interfaces, oversee regulatory compliance, and lead the electrical safety program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline
- 10+ years in transmission, substation, or generation interconnection engineering focused on high-power, high-voltage systems
- Experience carrying a project through utility or ISO interconnection to energization
- Ability to perform hands-on work in varied and hazardous environments
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call emergency support
- Willingness to work on-site in Memphis, Tennessee
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Valid driver's license
Responsibilities
- Own high-voltage infrastructure from generation terminals and interconnection points to the medium-voltage bus
- Design high-voltage switchyard architecture and manage fault-current considerations
- Lead utility and balancing-authority interconnection processes
- Own campus protection philosophy and settings management
- Lead load-flow, short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, and stability studies
- Manage generation electrical interfaces, synchronizing, protection, black start, and station service
- Manage assigned regulatory and compliance requirements
- Lead the campus electrical safety program
- Direct Transmission and Distribution engineering functions as roles are filled
