About the Role
You will lead and coordinate drivers while performing hands-on driving, loading, and unloading work. You will assign routes, maintain delivery records and vehicle condition, use inventory systems, follow transportation and safety requirements, support warehouse operations, and improve delivery efficiency and safety.
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- 3+ years of commercial driving experience
- At least 1 year in a lead, senior, or supervisory driving capacity
- Clean driving record
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation requirements
- Ability to comply with DOT and company safety policies
- Ability to perform physical material-handling work
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of drivers
- Assign routes and train drivers on safe transport practices
- Load, drive, and unload materials using commercial vehicles
- Secure loads and use forklifts for pickup and delivery activities
- Scan barcodes and record material movements in WMS and ERP systems
- Communicate delays, issues, and exceptions to supervisors and affected teams
- Maintain delivery documentation and ensure compliance
- Monitor vehicle condition, service records, cleanliness, and fueling
- Operate electronic logging devices and maintain a safe driving record
- Support receiving, material handling, and inventory operations
- Drive process improvements for efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery
