About the Role
You will run DNA extraction, normalisation, and library-preparation workflows for environmental samples. You will operate and maintain liquid-handling automation, record processing and quality-control data in LIMS, investigate anomalies, support protocol testing, and maintain laboratory safety, hygiene, stock, and organisation.
Requirements
- Hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology or life sciences
- Experience with DNA extraction from biological or environmental samples
- High-throughput laboratory experience with precise pipetting and record-keeping
- Experience using LIMS or an equivalent electronic lab notebook
- Ability to follow SOPs, identify deviations, and escalate them
Responsibilities
- Execute DNA extraction, normalisation, and library-preparation workflows
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated liquid-handling systems
- Record sample processing, quality-control data, and observations in Benchling LIMS
- Perform quantification, quality checks, and analytical assays
- Identify and escalate out-of-specification results
- Support R&D experiments, kit testing, and protocol optimisation
- Maintain lab hygiene, reagent management, safety compliance, stock, and organisation
