About the Role

As an Investment Intern on the neuroscience investment team in Amsterdam, you will work closely alongside experienced investment professionals and contribute to real work across the full investment cycle. You will screen and assess new investment opportunities in dementia and neurodegeneration, spanning therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and enabling technologies. You will contribute to scientific, clinical and commercial due diligence on prospective investments, conduct market research, competitive analysis and reviews of the scientific literature, and help prepare investment materials and internal analyses to support the team's decision-making. You will collaborate closely with senior investment professionals on live transactions and portfolio work, and gain direct exposure to portfolio companies operating at the frontier of neuroscience research. This is a hands-on, six-month opportunity to gain meaningful, practical insight into how life sciences investment decisions are made.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a life sciences discipline, such as neuroscience, medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, biology or a related field
  • At least two years of relevant experience beyond undergraduate studies, through professional work, a PhD programme or advanced postgraduate study
  • Experience reading and critically appraising clinical or scientific literature
  • Strong interest in scientific innovation and translating novel discoveries into medicines or medical technologies
  • Proven ability to synthesise complex scientific information and present it clearly in writing and in conversation
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
  • Proactive, collaborative working style with the ability to take ownership and manage own workload
  • Familiarity with the life sciences investment landscape or prior exposure to a healthcare or biotech environment (nice to have)
  • Background or demonstrable interest in neuroscience, neurology or neurodegenerative diseases (nice to have)
  • Additional European language skills (nice to have)
