About the Role
You will own inventory and cost accounting processes and systems. You will reconcile inventory and ERP data, maintain cost models and fixed-asset schedules, manage lease accounting, automate transaction workflows and reconciliations, prepare technical accounting memos, support tax compliance, and lead external financial audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA preferred
- 8+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in cost and inventory accounting at a hardware or manufacturing company
- US GAAP expertise for ASC 330, ASC 360, ASC 842, and R&D versus capitalizable cost distinctions
- Hands-on NetSuite experience, including inventory and manufacturing modules
- Experience integrating and reconciling ERP data with MES, PLM, and WMS systems
- Experience designing and documenting controls and processes
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and discrepancy resolution
- Verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Track and reconcile inventory across raw materials, subassemblies, work in progress, and finished goods
- Maintain data integrity between NetSuite and MES, PLM, and WMS systems
- Maintain cost models, overhead allocations, and labor and machine rates
- Analyze purchase price variances, material usage variances, production inefficiencies, margins, and COGS
- Maintain fixed-asset schedules and capitalization policies
- Classify R&D prototypes and capitalizable production assets
- Track depreciation and coordinate asset lifecycle management
- Automate transaction workflows and balance-sheet reconciliations
- Prepare technical accounting memos
- Analyze new leases and manage monthly lease accounting reconciliations and entries
- Support reporting for government grants and incentives and assist with compliance
- Lead annual external financial audits
