About the Role

You will command critical incidents from declaration through mitigation. You will set severity, engage responders, manage communications and regional handoffs, maintain incident records, ensure accountable follow-up, and improve response coordination through automation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years commanding or co-commanding high-severity incidents in production engineering, SRE, or technical operations
  • Experience directing technical responders under pressure
  • Ability to make severity and escalation decisions
  • Ability to assess service impact from dashboards
  • Communication skills for engineers, executives, and partner-facing stakeholders
  • Experience with cross-region handoffs
  • Understanding of FinTech and API-driven financial platforms
  • Experience using AI tools and agentic automation
  • Ability to work a regional coverage window in a global 24x7 roster

Responsibilities

  • Command incidents from declaration to mitigation
  • Set and reassess incident severity
  • Identify, page, and escalate the required responders and leaders
  • Manage the incident bridge and protect technical responders from interruptions
  • Provide impact, severity, and timing information to partner communications
  • Run follow-the-sun incident handoffs
  • Maintain an incident timeline of facts
  • Ensure retrospectives, accountable action items, and postmortem follow-up
  • Identify coordination tasks suitable for automation
  • Improve decision trees for incident response
