About the Role
You will monitor critical data-center equipment in real time, respond to incidents, perform initial diagnostics, and escalate anomalies. You will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, install and cable equipment, manage ITSM tickets and assets, and support capacity, security, documentation, audits, and continuity drills. You will also participate in on-call duties and travel when required.
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent qualification in IT, networking, or electrical engineering
- At least 2 years of experience in a data center or server room environment
- Experience in a carrier-neutral or hyperscale data center is a plus
- Strong knowledge of servers, switches, racks, PDUs, and UPSs
- Familiarity with Grafana and ticketing systems
- Basic networking knowledge, including VLANs, optical fiber, and structured cabling
- MPO fiber cabling experience
- Linux command-line proficiency is an advantage
- Written and oral communication skills
- English and Spanish
- Availability for on-call duties and interventions outside regular hours
- Ability to travel
Responsibilities
- Monitor servers, networks, power supplies, and cooling equipment in real time
- Respond to incidents and alerts, perform first-level diagnostics, and escalate anomalies
- Ensure service continuity and compliance with customer SLAs
- Perform on-call duties according to the established schedule
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on physical equipment
- Install, cable, and replace equipment during rack-and-stack operations
- Manage ITSM intervention tickets, including tracking, updates, resolution, and RMAs
- Maintain physical asset inventories in the CMDB
- Manage logistics for equipment deliveries and shipments
- Track rack power density and capacity
- Write and update runbooks and operational procedures
- Participate in internal audits and BCP/DRP drills
