About the Role

World is seeking a Head of Communications for Europe to develop localized communications strategies, strengthen reputation and engagement, manage regional media and agency relationships, support product and market launches, and lead crisis communications across European markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field; Master's preferred
  • 15+ years of communications experience focused on Europe
  • Deep understanding of European regional dynamics, cultural nuances, and media landscapes
  • Proven success developing communications strategies across diverse markets
  • Exceptional media relations experience with journalists, outlets, and influencers
  • Experience in regulated or policy-sensitive environments
  • Experience hiring and managing local external PR agencies
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with digital communications, content management, social media, and analytics tools
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus
  • Native to or longstanding residency in Europe required
  • Ability to travel for launches, speaking engagements, media tours, and events

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated, localized communications strategies for European markets
  • Build and manage a network of local external agencies
  • Apply global launch playbooks to country launches and expansions
  • Plan and execute earned media and thought leadership campaigns
  • Manage media relations, briefings, press releases, and spokesperson training
  • Lead press, blog, social, event, and marketing content creation
  • Serve as the primary regional crisis communications lead
  • Source, onboard, and monitor agency performance and KPIs
  • Engage government officials, media, influencers, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with marketing, policy, product, engineering, and regional teams
  • Measure communications impact and optimize regional approaches
