Tools for Humanity is a technology company founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco and Munich. It builds and operates services including World ID App and World App, which provide interfaces for creating and using World ID, accessing Mini Apps, and managing digital assets through a self-custodial wallet. It also develops the Orb and Orb Mini proof-of-human hardware and software, using encrypted iris-imaging processes and open-source components, and leads design and planning for World Spaces.

About the Role
You will lead the development and execution of integrated, localized communications strategies across diverse European markets. You will build and manage relationships with local agencies, media, government stakeholders, and influencers. You will design and run earned-first campaigns, oversee content and press materials, train spokespeople, and act as the primary crisis communications contact. You will prepare and apply launch playbooks for market openings, coordinate cross-functional communications for product releases and regulatory topics, measure campaign impact, and continuously optimize approaches for regional relevance and cultural sensitivity. You must travel as needed to support launches, media tours, and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications Public Relations Journalism International Relations or related field (Master's preferred)
- 15+ years of communications experience with a focus on Europe
- Deep understanding of regional dynamics cultural nuances and media landscapes across Europe
- Proven experience developing and executing successful communication strategies across diverse markets
- Exceptional media relations experience with journalists media outlets and influencers
- Experience working in regulated or policy-sensitive environments
- Experience hiring managing and coordinating local external PR agencies
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in digital communication tools content management and analytics
- Fluency in English proficiency in additional European languages a plus
- Native to or longstanding residency in Europe required
- Ability to travel for market launches speaking engagements and media tours
Responsibilities
- Develop integrated, localized communications strategies for European markets
- Build and manage a network of local external agencies
- Apply and adapt global launch playbooks for country launches and expansions
- Plan and execute earned media campaigns and thought leadership initiatives
- Manage high-touch media relations including outreach, briefings, and press releases
- Lead content creation for press releases, contributed articles, social, and events
- Serve as primary regional crisis communications lead and coordinate responses
- Train and prepare spokespeople for media interactions
- Source onboard and monitor agency performance and KPIs
- Engage and nurture relationships with government officials and key stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, policy, marketing, and regional teams
- Measure and report on communications impact and adjust strategies accordingly
