About the Role
You will shape announcement narratives and lead distribution across external channels. You will work closely with product, growth, legal, and leadership to identify story opportunities, secure high-quality media coverage, and prepare executives for interviews and briefings. You will own rapid-response and crisis communications, maintain issues management frameworks, monitor competitor coverage, and ensure consistent external messaging.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of experience in fintech, financial services, or crypto communications
- Proven experience managing proactive media strategy and reactive crisis communications
- Strong understanding of how product, regulatory, and reputational risks intersect
- Established media relationships and familiarity with top-tier newsroom dynamics
- Ability to translate complex product and regulatory topics into clear messaging
- High judgment under pressure and ability to operate in fast-moving situations
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Bias toward ownership, speed, and measurable outcomes
Responsibilities
- Partner with product and leadership to identify and shape announcement-ready developments
- Lead corporate and product communications from narrative framing through distribution
- Build and maintain relationships with business, economics, fintech, payments, and crypto reporters
- Proactively mine stories across product innovation, partnerships, growth milestones, and regulatory progress
- Secure high-quality media coverage and meaningful quote placements
- Own rapid-response communications for incidents, market disruptions, regulatory shifts, or reputational risk
- Ensure crisis and issues management frameworks including holding statements and escalation protocol
- Monitor competitor coverage and recommend positioning adjustments
- Prepare executives for interviews, briefings, and public appearances
- Ensure narrative consistency across all external communications channels
