About the Role
Establish a new business dedicated to the financialization of AI infrastructure by designing strategy and client solutions for correlated power and compute exposures, then developing the principal risk-taking framework and product suite.
Requirements
- 8+ years building and running a markets business in trading, brokerage, structured products, or physical commodities, with a track record of scaling a franchise.
- Working knowledge of AI compute, data-center development, neoclouds, GPU economics, and hyperscaler dynamics.
- Experience spanning trading, structuring, lending, and intermediation rather than a single-product specialty.
- Deep fluency in a flow commodity defined by basis, term structure, and non-storability.
- Demonstrated ability to price and manage risk in illiquid or nascent markets, including basis risk, mark-to-model valuation, and proxy hedging.
- Credit and structured-lending judgment, including asset-backed and project-finance structures.
- Quantitative fluency and ability to build and interrogate pricing models in Python or a comparable language.
- Institutional-grade execution and a rigorous, skeptical, process-driven approach to risk.
- Bonus experience in power or energy trading, AI or cloud businesses, data centers, physical infrastructure, crypto mining, derivatives products, or market benchmarks.
- Entrepreneurial, creative, commercially focused, and comfortable operating amid ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own Galaxy's strategy for entering AI infrastructure markets across brokerage, dealing, market-making, and structured lending.
- Originate transactions and build counterparty networks across AI labs, neoclouds, hyperscalers, developers, utilities, miners, and financial counterparties.
- Design and structure bespoke forwards, swaps, options, take-or-pay, and capacity-reservation instruments.
- Develop pricing and risk frameworks for illiquid or nascent markets, including mark-to-model valuation, basis decomposition, and proxy and cross-hedging.
- Build a credit and structured-lending capability underwriting GPU fleets and data-center deployments.
- Source liquidity, establish exchange and OTC connectivity, and build operational and control infrastructure.
- Design and implement a principal risk-taking framework integrating proprietary positioning into the client suite.
- Build and lead teams across origination, trading, structuring, and credit.
- Represent Galaxy with exchanges, benchmark and index providers, counterparties, and partners.
