About the Role

You will run hardware labs across two sites, from receiving equipment through rack installation, cabling, power, cooling, and floor layout. You will provision servers and accelerator platforms, manage procurement and RMAs, create specialized engineering setups, oversee on-site contractors, and maintain access, inventory, and lifecycle controls. You will also document playbooks and lightweight tools that enable remote engineers to use the lab independently.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating a hardware, systems, datacenter lab, or similar physical compute environment
• Knowledge of rack installation, copper and fiber cabling, and power distribution
• Knowledge of BMC, IPMI, Redfish, BIOS or UEFI, serial consoles, PXE, network boot, and firmware updates
• Linux and networking knowledge, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and basic switch configuration
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, quotes, and freight
• Ability to safely use power tools, bench power supplies, and wiring or rack elevation diagrams
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Clear, direct communication

Responsibilities

• Run physical lab operations across both sites, including receiving, staging, rack installation, cabling, power planning, cooling, and floor layout
• Provision server and accelerator platforms through firmware, BIOS or UEFI, management, operating-system, and network setup
• Manage lab hardware procurement, quotes, lead times, receiving, and inventory
• Own end-to-end RMA processes and vendor escalations
• Build debug harnesses, remote power switching, console access, and KVM setups
• Oversee and validate on-site contractor and vendor work
• Manage physical access, asset audits, and hardware lifecycle tracking
• Create playbooks and tooling for inventory, remote power, and console access
