About the Role
You will directly manage research and technical professionals and lead safe, reliable chemical-processing operations. You will develop scalable processes, improve recovery and throughput, coordinate cross-functional work, plan resources and costs, and maintain compliance and stewardship of facilities and materials.
Requirements
- PhD, master's degree, or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field
- At least 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD, 7 years with a master's degree, or 8 years with a bachelor's degree
- At least 5 years of leadership experience
- Experience operating, improving, scaling, or deploying chemical, material, manufacturing, or process systems
- Commitment to safety, quality, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
- Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Energy clearance
- Pass a pre-placement drug test and participate in random drug testing
Responsibilities
- Manage SCRP staff, including recruitment, performance management, mentoring, prioritization, development, and retention
- Lead chemical processing and enriched-material harvesting
- Guide development, qualification, optimization, and deployment of chemical-processing methods
- Establish scalable processes, work instructions, equipment needs, staffing plans, and quality practices
- Improve material recovery, yield, throughput, quality, safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, quality, safety, and program leadership
- Develop work scope, schedules, resource plans, cost estimates, technical documentation, and proposals
- Maintain stewardship of facilities, equipment, chemicals, isotope materials, and workspaces
