About the Role
You will represent the organization before West Virginia government bodies and relevant agencies. You will manage legislative engagement, develop state policy strategy, participate in trade associations and coalitions, build stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with lobbying registration, gift, and disclosure rules.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or political or legislative roles
- Established relationships across the West Virginia Legislature, executive branch, and state agencies
- Experience engaging elected officials, community members, and media
- Experience building stakeholder relationships
- Based in or willing to relocate to Charleston, West Virginia
- Willingness to travel frequently to Mason County and other parts of West Virginia
- Experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities, or technology
Responsibilities
- Lead engagement with the Governor's office, executive cabinet, and state agency leadership
- Manage the legislative agenda in the West Virginia House and Senate
- Build relationships with the WV PSC, WVDEP, Department of Economic Development, and other agencies
- Represent the organization in trade associations and policy coalitions
- Build relationships with peer companies and infrastructure partners
- Develop and execute West Virginia policy strategy
- Ensure compliance with West Virginia lobbying registration, gift, and disclosure rules
