About the Role
You will analyze state policy initiatives, advise leadership on legislative activity, develop West Virginia policy strategy, represent the organization in trade associations and coalitions, build relationships with stakeholders and partners, and ensure compliance with state lobbying and disclosure rules.
Requirements
- 10+ years of government affairs, public policy, or political and legislative experience
- Communication experience with community members and media
- Experience building trust-based stakeholder relationships
- Willingness to relocate to Charleston and travel frequently within West Virginia
Responsibilities
- Analyze initiatives from the Governor's office, cabinet, and state agencies
- Advise leadership on the West Virginia legislative agenda
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Represent the organization in trade associations and policy coalitions
- Develop and execute West Virginia policy strategy
- Ensure compliance with ethics, lobbying, gift, and disclosure rules
