About the Role
You will own the legal function and provide practical advice on legal, operational, governance, and reputational risks. You will design safeguards and policies, manage trade-control and lobbying obligations, support entity governance, review legal matters, and manage outside counsel across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
- Advise leadership on legal, operational, governance, and reputational decisions
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks
- Track regulatory developments in the United States, United Kingdom, and China
- Manage trade-control obligations, policies, screening, and education
- Manage FARA and lobbying exposure
- Design and run researcher-vetting and background-check safeguards
- Review projects, employment matters, contracts, grants, policies, and governance questions
- Manage outside counsel across jurisdictions
- Maintain 501(c)(3) status and reporting obligations
- Support statutory and regulatory filings, audits, tax, and transfer-pricing matters
- Establish new entities when required
