About the Role
You will lead legal operations across the United States and Canada. You will support regulatory, intellectual property, dispute, contracting, corporate, financing, public-policy, and government-engagement matters. You will manage outside counsel, maintain legal infrastructure, and build and develop the regional legal team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of legal experience following bar admission
- 5+ years of in-house experience in regulated industries
- US attorney license in good standing
- Massachusetts bar admission or eligibility for Massachusetts in-house counsel registration
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Regulatory support experience for production and R&D
- Intellectual property experience
- Dispute resolution experience
- Ability to work from the Boston office five days per week
Responsibilities
- Lead North American legal operations
- Provide regulatory support for production and R&D
- Advise on intellectual property rights, ownership, licensing, and protection
- Manage disputes and pre-litigation matters
- Support commercial contracting
- Support public policy and government engagement
- Support corporate and financing workstreams
- Engage and manage outside counsel
- Own entity management, policies, templates, tooling, and reporting
- Build, manage, and develop the North American legal team
