About the Role
You will be the first engineering hire, working hands-on across hardware and software while shaping what is built and how it is delivered. You will validate sensor platforms, build detection and alerting software, lead the manufacturing path, address certification and data-protection requirements, and hire and mentor future engineers.
Requirements
- Early-stage hardware product development experience
- Embedded systems
- Software engineering
- AI-enabled engineering and prototyping
- Engineering team leadership
- Regulatory, security, or compliance experience in health technology, medical devices, or another safety- and privacy-regulated field
- Vendor and manufacturing negotiation
- CE, UKCA, FDA, or equivalent regulated-product certification experience
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end hardware validation and bench testing
- Lead the manufacturing path and validate sensor platforms
- Build software for sensor-data detection, alerting, and escalation decisions
- Test and monitor software with the same rigor as hardware
- Navigate embedded-system certification, security, and PII data-protection requirements
- Hire, mentor, and lead future engineers
