About the Role
You will own the architecture and implementation of time- and safety-critical embedded firmware for autonomous aircraft. You will develop drivers and communications, define deployment approaches, maintain hardware-in-the-loop testing, and document architectural decisions and design tradeoffs.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industry experience in embedded firmware development
- Fluency in C and C++
- Understanding of bare-metal and RTOS embedded architectures
- Knowledge of CAN, I2C, UART, and Ethernet
- Experience with bootloader design and firmware deployment
- Experience setting up hardware-in-the-loop testing environments
- Ability to document and justify architectural decisions
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and implementation of time- and safety-critical embedded firmware on STM32 platforms
- Evaluate firmware ecosystems and decide what to retain or redesign
- Write drivers for sensors and peripherals
- Select and configure CAN, I2C, UART, and Ethernet protocols
- Implement bootloader and firmware deployment strategies
- Set up and maintain hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure
- Produce design documentation for architectural decisions and tradeoffs
