About the Role
You will develop, integrate, and test robotic and space systems on real hardware. You will support field deployments, acquire and analyze test data, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, build tools for monitoring and automation, and document configurations, findings, and software changes.
Requirements
- Currently pursue or recently completed a BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
- Have at least one year of hands-on contribution to a robotics team, rocketry team, Formula SAE team, research lab, or similar physical-hardware environment
- Be available to work at least three days per week
- Spend Wednesdays and Thursdays regularly at an outdoor desert test site near Los Angeles
- Have hands-on experience integrating and debugging software on real hardware
- Have experience in robotics, computer vision, controls, GNC, autonomy, or embedded systems
- Program in Python or C++
- Work comfortably in Linux
- Demonstrate strong debugging skills across software and hardware boundaries
- Work comfortably outdoors around active engineering test operations
- Be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance
- Be currently authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Support weekly field testing, including system setup, bring-up, data acquisition, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Develop and debug software for robotics, computer vision, GNC, and related systems
- Diagnose issues across software and hardware, including sensors, actuators, communications, timing, configuration, and computing systems
- Build scripts and lightweight tools for data collection, visualization, health monitoring, and test automation
- Review test data and logs, reproduce failures, and identify root causes and fixes
- Support hardware and software integration and test preparation
- Document test configurations, issues, findings, and software changes
