About the Role
You will lead translational biology and in vivo pharmacology and oversee liver-directed genetic-medicine programs from concept through IND-enabling studies. You will manage scientific leaders, direct cross-functional programs, guide in vivo studies, evaluate data, define program strategy, and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical discipline
- 12+ years of biopharma R&D experience
- Genetic medicines, liver biology, translational pharmacology, and preclinical development experience
- Therapeutic-program advancement experience
- Genetic medicine or advanced therapeutic modality expertise
- Liver biology and metabolic disease expertise
- In vivo pharmacology study experience
- Multidisciplinary scientific leadership experience
- IND-enabling, toxicology, CMC, bioanalytical, and regulatory knowledge
- United States work authorization without employer sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Build and oversee a liver biology and translational pharmacology organization
- Lead scientific strategy and execution for liver-directed genetic medicine programs
- Lead cross-functional therapeutic program teams
- Define program resourcing, timelines, risks, and critical experiments
- Guide in vivo pharmacology strategy for rodent and NHP studies
- Design experiments for liver and metabolic disease contexts
- Evaluate experimental design, data, and program decisions
- Develop program strategy and prioritize therapeutic opportunities
- Present program strategy, data, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
