About the Role

Lead a team of 4 to 6 engineers responsible for a telemetry agent that collects metrics and logs from hosts and GPUs. Own people management, incremental release delivery, technical direction, rollout safety, reliability, on-call operations, hiring, and cross-functional coordination.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of directly managing software engineers.
  • Systems software experience with host agents, telemetry collectors, daemons, or performance-sensitive software.
  • Experience with Go, Rust, or C++.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm-based deployment.
  • Experience leading teams through delivery against fixed deadlines.
  • Experience coaching senior and staff-level engineers.
  • Experience shipping multi-phase projects.
  • Strong communication and judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and develop a team of 4 to 6 engineers.
  • Manage one-on-ones, career growth, performance, and team health.
  • Plan, sequence, and de-risk a multi-phase release against a fixed milestone.
  • Own delivery and shipping of incremental releases.
  • Set technical direction with the tech lead and make sound tradeoff decisions.
  • Maintain rollout safety, low overhead, and reliability.
  • Own the on-call rotation and operational health of the agent fleet.
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams and hardware launch windows.
  • Source, interview, close, and onboard engineers.
  • Align priorities with product, infrastructure, peer managers, and leadership.
