About the Role

You will own the engineering roadmap for identity compliance and risk while defining shared services for identity account models verification onboarding authentication authorization screening monitoring and risk decisioning. You will lead and develop engineers manage hiring set technical standards review architecture participate in on-call and respond hands-on during incidents. You will translate regulatory obligations into product requirements support audits with system-generated evidence and represent the engineering domain to enterprise clients and compliance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building production systems
  • 2+ years managing engineers
  • Experience shipping in a regulated environment such as payments banking lending or crypto
  • Hands-on experience in identity authentication KYC KYB onboarding fraud risk decisioning AML screening or transaction monitoring
  • Strong programming skills in at least one modern language
  • Experience with TypeScript is ideal
  • Experience designing data and domain models for multiple clients markets and regulatory regimes
  • Ability to distinguish regulatory constraints from internal habits
  • Deep familiarity with current AI and agentic tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with MiCA DORA SOC 2 PSD2 SCA BSA or OFAC
  • Experience with stablecoins wallet infrastructure or blockchain payment rails
  • Experience with card issuing processing tokenization or scheme fraud programs
  • Experience building the engineering side of a compliance or risk function
  • Experience in crypto-native fintech or payments engineering

Responsibilities

  • Own the engineering roadmap for identity compliance and risk
  • Define shared identity verification authentication screening monitoring and risk services
  • Set domain models across clients projects jurisdictions and regulatory regimes
  • Evaluate what to build buy or retire using evidence
  • Manage grow and develop engineers
  • Run performance reviews career development and mentorship
  • Forecast hiring needs and run the hiring process
  • Set standards for design review testing on-call and incident response
  • Participate in the on-call rotation
  • Review architecture and design documents
  • Lead threat modeling and failure-mode analysis
  • Respond hands-on during incidents and high-stakes reviews
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal on regulatory product requirements
  • Support audits and supervisory reviews with automated system evidence
  • Work with Security on security and risk control boundaries
  • Represent the engineering domain to enterprise clients and compliance teams
