About the Role
You will lead the people and delivery side of an engineering organisation. You will own planning, roadmaps, hiring, performance management, and team development; translate technical and business needs into delivery plans; coordinate with Engineering, Trading, and Quant stakeholders; and improve predictable delivery.
Requirements
- Project management experience building roadmaps, sequencing work, managing dependencies and risk, and driving predictable delivery.
- Technical background sufficient to engage credibly in technical discussions.
- Experience leading, developing, and managing the performance of software engineers.
- Track record of delivering software through a team while balancing scope, quality, and timelines.
- People leadership skills in coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and creating an environment where engineers thrive.
- Judgment in hiring and developing talent.
- Communication skills with technical and non-technical cross-functional stakeholders, including Trading and Quant.
- Be based in Amsterdam or be willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Own roadmap priorities, planning, and work sequencing.
- Lead career planning, promotions, coaching, and continuous performance management for engineers.
- Lead hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
- Manage team culture, morale, productivity, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, provide feedback, and build the team.
- Translate technical and business requirements into delivery plans, dependencies, and risks.
- Liaise with Engineering, Trading, and Quant teams to design and roll out products.
- Track delivery progress, manage risks and scope trade-offs, and report status to stakeholders.
- Improve delivery processes and team velocity.
- Align team work with organisational goals and delivery timelines alongside Tech Leads and Staff Engineers.
