About the Role

You will provide technical and team leadership for API Platform engineering. You will design, build, and operate mission-critical APIs; guide reliability, code quality, evaluation, testing, and maintenance; develop technical strategy; and lead hiring, onboarding, mentorship, and cross-functional execution.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python.
• Understanding of high-traffic API design, including schema evolution, versioning, idempotency, authentication, rate limiting, and performance tuning.
• Organizational skills for managing parallel technical projects and prioritization tradeoffs.
• Experience managing engineering teams, including recruiting, developing, and retaining talent.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years as an engineering manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and team leadership across the API business.
• Design, build, and operate mission-critical APIs.
• Define technical strategy for scaling the API Platform.
• Drive product reliability, code quality, AI evaluation, testing, and maintenance.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, mentorship, and interview pipelines.
• Collaborate across teams to add and improve API capabilities.
• Track progress toward top-line business goals.
