About the Role
You will build finite element models, perform structural analyses, validate results with hand calculations, and support testing of UAV airframes. You will analyze test and flight data, define loads and margins, optimize structures for weight and strength, and document technical recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in structural analysis, finite element modeling, or aircraft loads analysis
- Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or HyperWorks
- Ability to perform hand calculations for structural strength, stability, and fatigue analysis
- Knowledge of composite materials and lightweight aerospace structures
- Familiarity with static, vibration, and fatigue testing methods
- Proficiency with data-analysis tools such as Excel, MATLAB, or Python
- Ability to obtain an S//SAR security clearance is desired
Responsibilities
- Build and refine finite element models for UAV components
- Perform static, modal, fatigue, and vibration analyses
- Validate FEA results with hand calculations
- Optimize airframe structures for weight, strength, and manufacturability
- Support structural test-plan development and execution
- Analyze flight telemetry and structural test data
- Define load cases, material properties, and design margins
- Document and present structural analysis reports
- Collaborate on structural requirements and system performance
- Improve structural analysis methods and tools
